Instructions for presenters
To avoid practical issues on site and to keep with the conference’s tight schedule, we kindly ask you to pay close attention to the following requirements when preparing your presentation:
Oral presentations
Language
All presentations should be given in English (the official language of the conference).
Length of presentations
A maximum of 15 minutes is allotted to each presentation in the regular paper sessions. This includes time for questions from the audience. Note, however, that if you are presenting in a session with many presentations (6-7), your available time may be somewhat reduced.
Presentation format
Microsoft PowerPoint is the only available visual aid for presentations. The computers in the session rooms are PCs running Windows XP with PowerPoint 2007 installed. Make sure to save your presentation file in a format compatible with this configuration.
Uploading presentations
Bring your presentation on a USB memory stick. (CDs, DVDs or any other storage media may not be accepted.) Presentations can be loaded on the computer in the session room whenever available, however at the latest during the break before the start of your session. Staff will be present in each room to assist you.
Poster presentations
Language
All posters should be written in English (the official language of the conference).
Poster size
Maximum poster size is 120 x 90 cm (height x width).
Poster mounting
Your poster is to be mounted during the last session prior to the poster session (i.e., 16.00 – 17.30). Each poster will be assigned a specific poster board, labelled with the corresponding poster number. Your poster number will appear in the printed programme that you receive at the venue. Sticky-back velcro fasteners for mounting will be provided by the staff in the poster area. The poster boards will be removed after the end of the poster session, and any posters that have not been taken down by the authors will be discarded.
Attendance
One of the authors must be present by the poster board during the poster session (Thursday 17 June, 17.45 – 19.00).
Hand-outs
Authors may deliver hand-outs during the poster session. Copies should be prepared in advance and brought to the conference by the author(s).
